#HYPE, an ode to social networks obsession and commercialization of intimate life… by Mike Voropaev
#HYPE, an ode to social networks obsession and commercialization of intimate life.

With this project, I wanted to create an ironic illustration of what social networks have really become these days, in a large mechanism with many small details that will be interesting to examine.
I used simple materials here for the “plastic” look to emphasize the fakeness of the social network profiles.
In my illustration, I used a couple of popular colors among Instagram bloggers: dusty rose, vintage turquoise and rose gold.
What technology, technical or software used for this project?
For this illustration, I used 3ds Max and Corona renderer. Postproduction was made in Photoshop (simple color correction).

Why did you create this artwork? Reason for creating this work.
Watching many Instagram bloggers I noticed that social network for instant photos became a large business where everybody trying to sell something or advertise. I decided to show Instagram’s “behind-the-scenes” as a large money-making machine.
